Dear Readers, I hope all is well,
I have been watching allot of awards on the TV just lately, so I would like to welcome you to the 12th annual awards of The Eye. Let’s start with the job well done award, which goes to Andrea Reid of African Parks, who brings us the relocation of male Lions from SA to Majete, all about their journey to increase population sizes here in Malawi. Big thanks as she had no time to play with & thanks Morgan Trimble for her beaut pictures (Front Cover).
Our passion for writing award goes to our Harrison Simfukwe who brings us 2 pieces, the folk law behind the Easter Bunny and a more formal one from a religious aspect. Daisy Belfield from the FCC gives us Traditional Tales of Malawi and take a deep breath to read Scuba Diving, both day and night time diving by my friend, Don Venedam & Susan Waldron brings us happiness with something I can’t pronounce, Leptospirosis. Thanks Sue. But lastly I cannot forget and recognise, the gold star award which goes to petroleum companies for keeping our generators going and the runner up, Escom for being so diligent in keeping us on our toes.
Still not finished, I forgot my husband Nigel Cheal, who has gone from marine engineer to graphic designer,
in record time, ill thank him later.
Big thanks to all advertisers and above contributors, forever inspiring me to do what I do and without whom this publication would not be possible. Have a great Easter!
